Introduction to Low Back Pain and Its Top 3 Causes

Low back pain - just hearing the words can make you feel a twinge. It's like that uninvited guest at your party who just won't leave. But did you know that most of us will feel this pain at some point in our lives? Yep, it's that common. But why? Let's dive into the top 3 culprits: Facet Joint, Disc, and Nerve pain.

1. Facet Joint Pain

Imagine your spine is a stack of cups, and between each cup, there's a little cushion. The facet joints are like the sides of the cups touching each other, allowing your back to bend and twist. When these joints get swollen or damaged, ouch! It's like someone's squeezing those cups too hard.

2. Disc Pain

Those cushions between our spine cups? Those are the discs. They're like jelly donuts - soft inside, tough outside. But sometimes, that jelly squishes out or the donut gets a bit squashed. That's when you feel like someone's stepping on your back, and not in a good way.

3. Nerve Pain

Ever had a leg fall asleep and then feel all prickly when waking up? That's a bit like nerve pain, but way worse. It happens when something in your back presses on a nerve. It can make your back, legs, or even toes feel like they're getting zapped!

So, what can we do about it?

Fear not! We've got a whole toolbox of solutions, from eating foods that make your joints sing to exercises that make your back do a happy dance.
